I understand that Blackburn Insurance will receive documentation of service requests, requests for information or declination for additional information which may become part of my customer file.

I understand that Blackburn Insurance will process service requests based on information provided through this site and that I will receive confirmation of all changes to my coverage. I authorize all such changes, and assume the responsibility of notifying Blackburn Insurance in the event of errors or misunderstandings.

Blackburn Insurance will handle service requests in good faith based on registration information. All service requests will be confirmed to the client and the client must contact Blackburn Insurance in case of error.

Client is responsible for updating email address and other information in the event of change.

Insurance terms, descriptions of coverage, and other insurance information are not meant to be complete, and the client should contact Blackburn Insurance, and always read the policy for complete information.

All insurance and non-insurance information is for general purposes and may not be up-to-date or complete. 

Privacy Policies and Practices

Blackburn Insurance has always been committed to ensuring the privacy and confidentiality of the information it receives. Recently, Congress enacted the Financial Services Modernization Act, which requires that certain companies, including insurance agencies, inform their customers how personal information is collected or disclosed. 

To assist in underwriting and servicing your business with us, we may obtain non-public personal information.  It could be information we receive from you verbally or from emails, on applications or forms, such as name, address, phone and fax numbers, email address, Social Security number, drivers license number, assets, income, medical information, etc.  We’ll get information from your transactions with us, as well as your current and past insurance companies such as payment history, account balance, claims information, coverages, and premiums, etc.  We may obtain information from third parties or consumer reporting agencies such as motor vehicle report, insurance score, credit history, etc.  In addition, for life, annuity, disability and health products, we may obtain your medical history with your permission. The nature and extent of the information we obtain varies based on the nature of the products and services you receive.

We do not disclose any non-public personal information about our customers or former customers to anyone, unless the disclosure is necessary to service your account, and is permitted by law. For example, we may disclose non-public personal information about you in the following situations:  to carry out a transaction that you request; to provide information to companies who perform services on our behalf to help us administer your insurance policies and adjust claims; to comply with a validly issued and enforceable subpoena or summons. 

We do not sell information about our customers.

If you only supply us with your postal address on-line you will receive the information you requested only by mail. If you supply us with your telephone numbers on-line, you may receive telephone contact from us. If you give us your email address, you may receive email from us in the future.

The importance of security for all personally identifiable information associated with our guests is of utmost concern to us. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, Blackburn Insurance cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us or from our online applications, products or services, and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your transmission, we make our best effort to ensure its security on our internal systems.

Use of Cookies

Blackburn Insurance may place an electronic "cookie" in the browser files of a guest's computer.  Cookies are pieces of information that a web site transfers to your browser, which can then be stored on an individual's computer hard drive for record-keeping purposes or to provide you with tailored information.  Cookies themselves do not enable us to access any personal information about our visitors.  However, they do allow Blackburn Insurance to analyze guests' use of our sites with information like:  the date and time you access our site; the pages you visit; the type of browser and operating system used to access out site; the Internet Protocol (IP) address from which you accessed our site; and your internet domain (ABCcompany.com).  This analysis helps us better understand which areas of our site are most useful and popular so we can plan improvements and updates accordingly.  Blackburn Insurance does not use cookies to retrieve information from a visitor's computer that was not originally sent in a cookie.  Blackburn Insurance will never save passwords, credit card or other sensitive information in cookies.  You may set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie, giving you the opportunity to decide whether or not to accept it.   For more information on cookies and their use, please refer to the Help facility within your browser. 

An IP address is a number that's automatically assigned to your computer whenever you are connected to the Internet and surfing the Web.  Web pages automatically identify your computer by its IP address.  Blackburn Insurance collects IP addresses for the purposes of system administration, and to audit the use of our site. When guests request pages from Blackburn Insurance, our servers log the guests' IP addresses.  We do not normally link IP addresses to anything personally identifiable, which means that a user's session will be logged, but the user remains anonymous to us.  We will use IP addresses to identify a user when we feel it is necessary to enforce compliance with our house rules or terms of service or to protect our service, site, customers or others.

Passwords and Security

You will be able to choose a user password during the registration process. You alone are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of the password and account access. You are also responsible for all activities or transactions that occur which are authorized by your password. You agree to immediately notify Blackburn Insurance of any unauthorized use of your password or account. Allowing another person to use a login-id and its associated passwords, using a login-id and password assigned to another person, or attempting to gain access to resources for which one is not authorized is a serious breach of security and a violation of the site agreement.

You must notify Blackburn Insurance immediately to eliminate access to any individual who is no longer entitled to access your account, due to separation of employment or change in status. We will not be responsible or liable for any loss or damage arising out of your failure to comply with this provision. Blackburn Insurance will keep your registration information confidential. We reserve the right to block access to the site should we suspect that your account is being accessed without your permission for use not permitted by the Terms and Conditions. You may contact us to re-establish your registration should this occur

Email Communication

We recognize that SPAM is an ever-growing problem.  We protect your email address as is if it were our own.  We do not share email addresses with anyone other than your insurance company or one you’re applying to.  All email addresses are stored on secure servers with multiple layers of protection.  By sharing your email with us, you consent to periodic newsletters and communications from Blackburn Insurance.  You can always opt out of these communications by contacting us. 

Jurisdiction and Enforceability

Use of this web site is governed by the laws of the state of Idaho, other than laws governing conflicts of laws. The exclusive venue for the resolution of any related dispute is a court of competent jurisdiction in Lewiston, Idaho.

If any part of these terms and conditions are invalidated by a court of competent jurisdiction, the invalid provision(s) are deleted and the remaining provisions are not affected and remain valid and enforceable in accordance with the express terms thereof.

Loss Prevention
